Help — Using ChatLemur

Welcome! This guide covers the logged-in ChatLemur app: chatting with Lenny, voice calls, price alerts, your watchlist, settings, and the accessibility features the product is built around.

1. Getting started

Sign in

Press Open App on chatlemur.com. No password needed — continue with Google, GitHub, Apple, X, or an email magic link. Your free account starts immediately; no credit card is required.

Your first look

• Left sidebar — channels (starting with # General), direct messages, search, and a live watchlist price widget at the bottom.
• Middle — the conversation with Lenny, your AI analyst.
• Message box — type, or press the microphone to talk.
• Chat header — voice call, video call, speak-aloud toggle, theme, pins, and a ⋮ More menu with keyboard shortcuts.

A great first message: "What can you do?" — or "What's BTC doing right now?"

The channels

Everyone joins # general plus topic channels — market rooms like # markets-dojo (live voice TA), # btc-eth, # altcoins, # on-chain and # news-desk, and life-admin rooms like # shopping-deals, # jobs-careers and # consumer-protection. Stuck? Ask in # help. You can also create channels, start direct messages, and invite people to your workspace from the sidebar buttons.

2. Chatting with Lenny

Just ask in plain English. Lenny can give a technical read on any crypto coin or stock, surface market sentiment and on-chain signals, read the news, explain trading concepts, help with budget shopping lists, job search and scam screening — and just chat.

What she won't do: give personal financial advice, promise outcomes, or invent numbers — if a live data source is down, she says so.

Slash commands

Press ⌘K (or the / button beside the message box) to browse commands. Favourites:

Hearing Lenny out loud

• Every reply has a Play button that reads it in a natural voice.
• The speaker icon in the chat header turns on auto-speak for every reply (defaults on for VoiceOver users).
• Adjust voice speed in Settings → Preferences, or change voice and language with /voice.

Talking instead of typing

• Press the microphone button, or ⌘/Ctrl+Shift+V.
• Push-to-talk: when you're not typing, hold Space to record, release to send.

3. Voice & video calls with Lenny

Talk with Lenny live, like a phone call:

• Press the phone icon (voice) or camera icon (video) in the chat header, and allow microphone access.
• Talk naturally — Lenny answers in real time, and you can interrupt her mid-sentence.
• In-call: M mutes your mic, V toggles your camera.
• A presence bar above the messages shows who's in the voice room — friends in the channel can join you. If someone calls you, press Enter to accept.

4. Price alerts

Get told when a coin crosses a price you care about.

• From Settings: Settings → Price Alerts → coin (e.g. BTC), direction Above or Below, USD price → Add alert.
• From chat: /alert BTC above 75000.

Manage or clear alerts in the same section. Your alert allowance depends on your plan — see Plans.

5. Watchlist

Your watchlist drives the live price widget at the bottom of the sidebar.

• From Settings: Settings → Watchlist → type a coin (e.g. SOL) → Add.
• From chat: /watchlist add SOL.

6. Profile, settings & modes

Open Settings from the profile menu at the top of the sidebar, or at /settings.

• Profile — change your display name; sign out.
• Plan & Usage — your plan, feature list, usage today, invoices, and the upgrade button.
• Price Alerts and Watchlist — covered above.
• Connections — your sign-in methods; change password (email accounts); Discord linking is coming soon.
• Merchant — store owners can download the WooCommerce plugin that puts Lenny on their own store.
• Affiliate — refer-a-friend with DOGE commissions; coming soon.
• Modes — free toggles that give Lenny specialised depth: Artist/Musician (plus a public artist profile), Job, Career, and Travel (accessibility-aware travel companion). Turn any off at any time; your settings are kept.
• Preferences — theme (System / Light / Dark), TTS speed (0.5×–2×), reduce motion, send-on-Enter, and sound effects.

7. Plans & upgrading

ChatLemur is free to start — the free plan is the trial, with no clock and no card.

Free includes voice chat with Lenny, live market reads, news, AU shopping help, scam-screening, job search, summarised on-chain signals and the community. Solo adds full technical analysis; Pro adds priority Lenny and harmonic pattern analysis; Premium adds on-chain intelligence, full-depth live voice and your own branded Lenny.

Your message count resets on the 1st of each month — check it in Settings → Plan & Usage, or with /usage. Upgrade any time at /pricing.

8. Accessibility — built blind-first

ChatLemur is built by a blind developer; blind and sighted users get the same full experience.

• Screen readers: new messages are announced once, through a single managed channel — no double-speaking. Auto-speak defaults on for VoiceOver users.
• Keyboard, end to end: everything works without a mouse, starting with a skip-to-content link.
• Voice in, voice out: run the whole conversation by voice — mic input, spoken replies, live calls.
• Reduce motion, theme, and TTS speed controls in Settings → Preferences.
